From Sanskrit “Greeva Vasti” is translated as “neck” and “capacity or preservation of something inside.”
Unfortunately, the lifestyle in the modern world, prolonged sedentary office work, a computer and especially recently, oddly enough, a mobile phone has a detrimental effect on the cervical vertebrae, spinal muscles and connective tissues. Ayurvedic procedure “Greeva Vasti” effectively helps in solving these and many other problems.
ORDER OF PROCEDURE:
During the procedure, oiling and at the same time warming up of the neck-collar zone occurs.
Dough is prepared from chickpea or ordinary whole wheat flour. After that, a small oblong ring with a diameter of 10 – 12 centimeters is made from the dough and hermetically glued to the neck so as to cover the cervical vertebrae and additionally 3-4 vertebrae of the thoracic region. Then, warm medicated oil or a special herbal decoction is slowly poured into this ring. After the medicinal mixture has cooled, it is removed and replaced with a warmer one.
After the end of the procedure, the dough is removed and a relaxing massage of the neck-collar zone is performed. After the procedure, it is better to take some rest with a cup of herbal tea.
The procedure lasts 45 minutes
POSITIVE EFFECT:
Relieves tension in the vertebrae and muscles of the neck and shoulder joints. It improves blood circulation in the neck, thereby ensuring the flow of oxygen to the brain.
GREEVA VASTI IS RECOMMENDED FOR THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS:
- Chronic pain in the neck and neck-collar area;
- Damage to the cervical discs, cervical spondylosis, cervical spondylitis;
- May be helpful for dizziness;
- Tingling or numbness of the upper limbs;
- After fractures or compression of cervical intervertebral discs;
- Shoulder pain or so-called “Frozen shoulder”.
